A Touch of History

Villa Frua belongs to the third generation of the De Angeli and Frua families, founders in the late 19th century of what would become one of Europe’s most important textile industries.

The construction of Villa Frua dates back to 1912, the year in which Anna—sister of Ernesto De Angeli and wife of Giuseppe Frua—came to Stresa on holiday and fell in love with this place, where, in the early 20th century, there were only lush green meadows and vineyards.
